The entire purpose of true education is:
not merely to make not to make people do the right thing but to enjoy them;
not merely industrious, but to love industry;
not merely learned, but to love knowledge; ...
not merely just, but to hunger and thirst after justice.
— John Ruskin

Through the Redefining Dogs Foundation (RDF) a limited number of internships are available on a competitive basis to qualified individuals.

Our internship program is primarily intended for upper level college students (or other qualified mature learners). Interns are involved with hands-on work associated with current shelter dog programs. Students’ learning experiences will be guided by current scientific principles of behavior management, learning theory, canine development and welfare. Students from a variety of majors will be considered but the experience is considered most applicable to students from: psychology, pre-vet, sociology and kinesiology. We generally follow a semester schedule so decisions regarding applications can be made in advance of the start of a semester. Be sure to send inquiries well in advance for full consideration of materials. For more information and/or to request an application, please send an email inquiry from the "Contact Us" page.

Note: The Redefining Dogs Foundation runs a Summer Intern program, called Must Love Mutts, for young volunteers interested in shelter dogs. The pictures (above) are from the Summer '13 offering of this program. There are a limited number of spots open for this program which will run again in Summer '14.
